What exactly is coaching? According to the International Coaching Community, "It unlocks a person's potential to maximize their performance. Coaching helps them to learn rather than teaching them" (Source) There are a lot of Life Coaches, Health Coaches, Business Coaches, etc. out there which can make it challenging to pick one.
I have some suggestions to choosing a coach to work with:
- Why are you looking for a coach? What is the overall mission you have and goals you want to accomplish?
- What factors are important to you in a coach? Are they personable? A good listener? Open to being flexible as you need it?
- Check out a few coaches who are offering free or low cost coaching sessions before you make a commitment. Follow them on social media and engage with them. Do you vibe with them? Do you feel inspired when you read their post or catch them on a FB live?
What makes me different as a coach? I take a holistic approach and I look at your needs and the goals you want to accomplish. Sometimes you may not even know what the goals are and I can help you navigate that. For me a holistic approach includes, lifestyle, nutrition, family, relationships, friends, work life and anything you deem valuable to you. Honest and concrete self-assessment is key to successful development and growth. I also use my gift of intuition to guide my thoughts and insights to share with you.
